Open letter to EA regarding Team Builder

Dear EA and the EA College Football 25 Development Team,

 

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the persistent issues with the Team Builder website since the game's launch on July 19th. Numerous users, including myself, have encountered errors when creating or editing teams, difficulties deleting teams, and other significant problems.

Specifically, I have experienced issues with uploaded logos not displaying correctly and the inability to edit stadiums and fields. Despite confirming successful uploads through browser developer tools, these images remain invisible on the website and do not appear in-game after downloading the team. Your customer support team has acknowledged this error via the support chat, but it took three weeks for any public acknowledgment to appear on the Answers HQ forums.

Furthermore, the process of reporting technical issues and bugs is inadequate. There is no confirmation that reports reach the appropriate personnel, and the lack of a formal ticketing system leaves users uncertain about the status of their reports.

My analysis using browser developer tools reveals numerous errors and warnings within the website's script, suggesting potential issues with storage allocation and retrieval. These are concerns that even individuals with basic computer knowledge can identify, yet responses from community managers on Answers HQ imply a lack of awareness within the company.

While I understand that the website is in Beta and may experience issues, the frequency and severity of these problems suggest a lack of proper quality assurance. These bugs should have been identified and addressed during testing.

The current situation reflects poorly on EA's commitment to quality. I urge you to acknowledge the game-breaking issues with both the game and the Team Builder website and provide concrete timelines for their resolution. If certain issues cannot be resolved, please communicate this transparently. The lack of communication is eroding trust and discouraging future purchases of EA products.

I remain hopeful that EA will take swift and decisive action to address these concerns and restore confidence in its products and services.

  • We're well past the point where refunds need to begin being offered by EA. Everything related to TeamBuilder has been nothing but a massive bait-and-switch. They're begging for a class action lawsuit against them. They advertised this, and multiple others features, as being available for the game. And this feature in particular has been essentially unavailable, nearly a month in to the release of the game. We're coming up on the game being nearly 10% through its cycle, and we've been practically without one of the main features that people bought the product for.

    I'm tired of all these companies, EA in particular, using a release date for a game as nothing more than a beta test that eats in to a significant portion of the game's life. We should all be on the payroll at EA for how many things everyone is finding wrong with everything in the game. Things that even a SINGLE QA tester at EA should have encountered within less than a day of playing the game. This is outrageous.

    yup... we're the unwitting R&D dept for ncaa 2026... hopefully they'll read the riot act after seeing the forums complain, but then they'll look at the income statement and go full steam ahead on a re-boot of this non sense next year, and promote new uniform features like digital ball sweat rendering instead of concrete features that would immerse TB users into their experience... I'm never buying an EA game on release ever again

    @KleShreen The biggest case for a class action lawsuit is them hiding that you need to pay for a subscription service to use the Teambuilder teams in a dynasty.  At first they advertised offline dynasty - people preordered the game. Then they switched to saying private online dynasty with no mention you had to pay - people preordered the game.  Then they didn't require a subscription to playing a private online dynasty during early access - people who bought the game early posted about it, so a private online dynasty didn't seem like a big deal, so people bought the game.  There was a big uproar when suddenly you had to pay to play, EA didn't acknowledge it in their list of issues and didn't update their marketing even with fine print saying you had to pay, and people continue to buy.  I've never been an EA-basher, even with all of the bugs (even though the Teambuilder site is terrible, even for them, especially considering that it worked great back in '14 - I'm guessing trying to make a common build for Madden is what busted it), but this is definitely misleading at the very best and intentionally against lawful business practices at the worst.

  • The new Team Builder is nothing, but a shell compared to the OG Team Builder. Quality is always better than quantity. I feel your pain when I heard Team Builder was back, I was so excited and mentally planning my teams, city and state and cool logos. Now all I have is 32 drafts and cannot complete the teams. Only three of my logos show up and not for primary, secondary or tertiary slots. I cannot see the uniforms or the stadium surface. Only a blank white screen.
