Dude, I've been playing games since the Atari 2600 in the 80s, I own pretty much every NCAA Football game there is. You have to realize the entire reason EA lost NCAA was due to NIL or lack there of and player likeness usage. They cannot allow us to change ND, OSU, etc. that goes against everything that finally brought the game back to us. If they brought back the old Team Builder it would break the license they now have with the NCAA, we can't have that kind of control over rosters and names anymore.
Also, 10 years is a massive change in technology and "rules". EA has to play by the rules given to them that allowed the game to even be created in this day and age. I'm not 100% happy with everything either, but I understand that somethings had to be sacrificed to allow the game to be made again.
Also, keep in mind Team Builder is still in Beta, it's not done. We may still get things like "play now" mode being allowed to use our edited name rosters. I'm looking forward to seeing what they're going to do with this mode, but I also understand there are checks in place and guidelines they must follow.
How does someone playing the game in their living room affect anything with the players in real life? If that was the case how come you can edit any NFL player in madden? They have the NFL PA. I understand the players getting played for EA to use their names and likeness. But once the game comes out what Jo schmo does to the roster in his living room has 0 impact on the players.
