So no way to edit ratings or abilities of the rosters?

Sorry I bought this game. I won’t be fooled again EA. No way to edit ratings or abilities offline!? That’s crap! We need another sports game company.

This change will come, but it'll be a massive change to the code and how the game looks from a menu standpoint, so it's going to be a while...  You CAN edit ratings on TB teams for Generic players on the game in the PROGRAM section of Team builder, then upon importing that team to your dynasty, find that generic player with the massive stats and change their name to Jacques Strap JR the 3rd and swap them to a 1 bar kickers facemask and etc... Slight workaround, but it's def DUMB that i can't edit really ANYTHING in console on a player that only exists on said console... Also, ALL those console edits have to be done with a controller (NCAA 25 NOT compatible with usb keyboard entry) MER

My big issue is the lack of create a player, therefore not being able to create recruits in dynasty, and the inability to use team builder in offline dynasty. Most people are fine with not being able to edit the real players ratings (though many aren’t) but jersey numbers need to be editable in dynasty. I’ve seen complaints that players are wearing the same #’s on the field at the same time.

The lawsuit brought by Ed O’Bannon against the NCAA, not EA, was because they were licensing college athletes NIL without permission or compensation to EA. It had to do with EA putting those players in the game, not users creating random players.

Some of this is probably just EA’s lawyers being overly cautious but they should have been more transparent about it.

@vanillakream There are NO legalities to worry about editing ratings and abilities! There are no licenses getting broke by allowing me to making Riley Leonard a quicker runner as a QB or making Finn Hogan a better deep threat or possession receiver.

I understand the nil crap, I’ve been playing EA NHL games for years. But even in those games, you can edit Patrick Kane’s ratings and abilities right from the game itself.

And creating your own players for dynasty mode does NOT violate legalities either.
  • Dude, I've been playing games since the Atari 2600 in the 80s, I own pretty much every NCAA Football game there is. You have to realize the entire reason EA lost NCAA was due to NIL or lack there of and player likeness usage.  They cannot allow us to change ND, OSU, etc. that goes against everything that finally brought the game back to us. If they brought back the old Team Builder it would break the license they now have with the NCAA, we can't have that kind of control over rosters and names anymore.

Also, 10 years is a massive change in technology and "rules". EA has to play by the rules given to them that allowed the game to even be created in this day and age. I'm not 100% happy with everything either, but I understand that somethings had to be sacrificed to allow the game to be made again.

Also, keep in mind Team Builder is still in Beta, it's not done. We may still get things like "play now" mode being allowed to use our edited name rosters. I'm looking forward to seeing what they're going to do with this mode, but I also understand there are checks in place and guidelines they must follow.

@vanillakream 10 years, you should play the game from 10 years ago. You didn’t have to go “online” you could edit the rosters right from the game without having to “download.” You could edit ALL the team’s rosters. I could edit, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Rutgers etc etc all from in the game, altogether.

You could start your dynasty and make your coach a legend. You didn’t have to start from scratch as a coach. Yes you could cheat a bit and build a coach that was a motivator and recruiter. You could give your coach an A rating and not start at C-.

Again, maybe if you would play or replay the game from 10 years ago, you could see why this game is crap. You had all the freedom to play the game without going “online” and “downloading.”
  • "No way to create your own player for Dynasty mode or Play Now like you could 10 years ago."

You can edit all of the player attributes and ratings online, then when you download to console you can change their names there. This works for all players.

"No creating your own coaches for dynasty mode"

When you start your Dynasty it asks you if you want to create your own coach. You pick if he's a motivator, recruiter, etc. You can even chose if you want to create a DC, OC, or head coach.

Sorry, I just don't see what your issues are here as they do seem to be things you can do in the game. Right now the "play now" mode won't include the edited names because it picks up from the downloaded PC state, but that's something I believe they're working on that may come later. As for your other remarks I don't see them missing from the game.

@DextterJettster It is ridiculous to think I was all hype to get this game, only to find out you can’t edit ratings and abilities. EA didn’t want us to be able to fix their pathetic ratings they gave most of the players. No creating your own coaches for dynasty mode the way you could 10 years, you could create a legend coach taking over a rebuilding program. Not with this game. No way to create your own player for Dynasty mode or Play Now like you could 10 years ago. All they had to do was go back 10 years and update and add. They couldn’t even do that. EA screwed that up too. EA would screw up a wet dream!
  • @maddawgnp Hell yeah, this company is CRAP, im refunding this if it doesnt get fixed. Complete SCAM by EA. This just shows the effort they put into their "work".
