Team Builder Franchise

Why do I need to pay for an XBox Live subscription to use my team builder team in franchise more? (I'm assuming it'll be the same in Madden too) If it's free to use these created teams in play now, why can't I use them in offline franchise\dynasty? I'm not trying to play online, just a classic, single-player franchise. Please fix this!
