I am getting the same error. I also attempted to unlink and link to a different account and now it got me into even more of a bind because EA wont allow me to unlink my now incorrect XBOX account. ***There also is no option to select "upgrade." it just forces me to sign out and sign back in, but its the right account linked to XBOX....
Investigation ongoing, no further updates at this time.

I think we would appreciate more clarity into this instead of repeating the same message for three months. If I did this at my job, I would be fired.

Hey Barry,
I'm sure this isn't your favorite thread in the world right now, so I appreciate your persistence with the regular posts, given that the investigation has been ongoing for over 2 months. I also understand that, technically, none of us are entitled to the game because, as users, we agree that the game is software we are licensed to use, with no guarantee of "quality service." Which I interpret to mean that nothing can work, and we agree that's alright. Basically, we throw our money at something and just kind of cross our fingers that something we like comes out. It's sort of similar to a wishing fountain/well. I hope that illustrates a little bit how we feel here, and that you can empathize with that. I can tell from many of your posts that you're a chill guy and clearly dedicated to EA. Being a part of anywhere for 13 years is incredible.
All I'd really ask for in this "wishing well" scenario here is whether or not this unskippable trial message has been reproduced by the team? If not, I wonder if there's anything we could do as a community to help resolve the problem faster? I'm much more interested in giving whatever information is needed to help speed this along. I think many will read this thread and not comment because they, similarly, don't know how to help. I just hope my wish comes true, even if it takes another two months.
*Obligatory issue notes: I have a PC, I have Game Pass Ultimate with EA Play included, and I attempted to stream the game using Xbox Cloud Gaming. Upon starting the game, I get the same image everyone else does, describing that I have the trial version and that I'm all out of time. It also did not work in my web browser. My friend with the exact same setup couldn't get it to work either. Funny enough, neither of us had ever played the game before, so we didn't even get a "trial" in the first place. Cloud gaming seems to have the worst of it, because many of the workarounds that I have found only apply to those with an Xbox and a downloaded licensed software.*

Yep we are getting screwed over at the moment by a bug which has not been fixed in over 2 months
