Re: EA Play Has Expired Error When Loading Game
Is anyone at EA actually going to fix the license recognition for Xbox Cloud Gaming, or are we just supposed to accept that our Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions are useless here?
I have already put over 20 hours into College Football 26 via Cloud Gaming. Suddenly, I am permanently locked out of the game with the following screen: "EA PLAY TRIAL: This trial can only be played on the account that downloaded it. Please sign back into that account and restart the game to continue your progress."
Let me make this perfectly clear for whoever reads this: I am playing on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
I cannot "sign out" of my Xbox profile mid-stream to bypass it, because doing so instantly terminates the cloud session.
I have tried every single "fix" out there: clearing the browser cache, using incognito mode, completely disabling adblockers and VPNs, and swapping between Microsoft Edge and Chrome. Nothing works. Even unlinking my EA Account and linking it again.
This is a widely known server-side handshake bug between Microsoft and EA. There are literally dozens of complaints on this exact forum over the last several weeks regarding this issue.
Furthermore, to the moderators reading this: do not just merge or add this message to a thread that has already been marked as "resolved". You have done this previously, and it completely dismisses the fact that this is still an active, ongoing, and game-breaking problem.
Since standard support channels are ignoring this, my next steps are filing a formal Notice of Dispute directly with Microsoft CELA, as well as escalating this defective digital service to the European Consumer Centre (ECC) and the German Verbraucherzentrale. Stop marking this as 'investigated' and fix the cloud licensing bug.
