With the season reset, players earn medals based on their highest rank. This determines where you start this season. Because you were in Master League last season, you've earned enough medals to start in Diamond League this season.
The cap for Diamond league is level 11. With the season just starting, it is very likely that you're facing players who may have already upgraded their units and are at, or near, the league cap.
I'm having a similar problem now @EA_dance210. It's gotten so bad that I honestly think I'm going to have to quit playing, because it's no longer fun. Despite trying to change my tactics and strategies, my win rate has sunk to a low 20% in Diamond after the season reset. Prior to the season end I was able to hold a decent 50% in low Masters. I have no idea what changed with the matchmaking but whatever it was it's legitimately sucked all of the fun out of the game, and I'm beginning to regret having spent money on diamonds.
Just a small example of opposing forces 😨 in the attached picture...
The top players get dumped into Diamond just like people who fought hard to to make it into master or barely into Tiberium. This means you're facing the best in a lot of your matches. Thankfully, most of these will move up very quickly and within a week or two things should start to get a little more reasonable.
What I find a little crazy is the top player (already in Tiberium) is getting matched at least 50% with Diamond I opponents. That feels a little broken. He's getting way out ahead +8 medals at a time.
I just experienced another injustice. Being put up with unfair battle again. Bike vs bike but this time lvl9 against lvl 10. Still fine but 1 min into the game opponent can send 2-3 bikes to attack and then follow by another 2-3 more. I barely generate enough to buy 1-2. How to play like this ???? Even if I hv lvl11 bike, I still will lose to the quantity. I just dun understand how the game works. With this, I am even more determine not to spend on diamonds anymore until the EA folks fix this ridiculous setting.
The hilarity of anyone trying to defend the matching system is beyond me. You can perfectly counter every unit, but if you are at any level disadvantage you are toast. Every time.
There is 3 issue here:
1. Unit level severely mismatch
2. Matching you against your unit combination most of the time. Meaning if you choose a scarab, they will match you with opponent that has a 2 tile attack capability or something like that.
3. Matching you against opponent where their crystal growth is faster than you.
I face the above 3 issue in most of my matches. Especially during event matches where you are about to get some wonderful goodies if you win.
