Black screen after chosing C&C or Red alert

Cant start the game ...After pushing the start icon and selecting C&C or Red alert butten  there is only a black screen..... I have tryied editing the conquer.ini file and set the resolution to 192...

This is my exact problem.  I've been through the EA Support live chat three times (Case #61400489), trying all the various workarounds they suggested:

1. Clean Registry, clear cache and temp files
2. Flush DNS Cache
3. Disable firewall and antivirus
4. Clean boot
5. DxDiag run and file attached
6. MS Info run and file attached
7. UO trace done twice and files attached
 
Nothing fixed the issue and they told me I'm just going to have to wait for a game update or something...I'm super excited about these games and I don't want a refund, I just want them to work!

      Thanks for the reference, but nothing in that thread helped to fix my issue.  I am using Steam on Windows 10 and I tried messing with all my Nvidia settings, but I'm still unable to load up the game at all.  I have a GTX 2070 with up-to-date drivers, plus an SSD.  This is so depressing.

        Are you sure you aren't getting a popup from Windows 10 firewall requesting access to the network be granted?  I got the black screen  until I alt+tab and saw the popup.  I hit OK and it works fine.

    6 years and no fix or anything??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????


    I love that I was playing with no problem and this suddenly started happening to me. Can't find a fix ANYWHERE. I have tried EVERYTHING mentioned and not a single thing has worked. FFS
