Problem solved......I just turn MSI Afterburner off......
I've seen that suggestion elsewhere, but I don't have MSI afterburner installed. I don't overclock my video card or otherwise monitor/control it with any third party software. Glad to hear you got your game working, though, congrats!

Ok I'm a *. It was a simple resolution problem, as countless other people have mentioned in other threads. I had to resolve it from within the Nvidia control panel. The black screen was just the lower resolution game on my high resolution screen. I tried fixing this before with the conquer.ini file but that didn't work for me.
Game works fine for me now. I don't deserve to be a PC gamer...

I just changed the resolution setting in my Nvidia control panel to be lower, 1920x1080. I guess it must override the regular Windows setting. Once I did that I did not have the black screen anymore. Then in the game I changed the resolution to 4k, then went back to the Nvidia control panel and changed that back to 4k too. Now I can play it in 4k.
