I Have C&C The Ultimate Collection. Tiberian Sun does not work. The front screen loads, but, none of the options work. If I click on 'Options' nothing happens. If I click on 'Skirmish' nothing happens. When I do click on an option, the options all disappear, but, the game does not load. I have to press the 'Esc' key and all the options appear back again. I can then exit the game.

Any ideas as to how I can get Tiberian Sun to work?

    A lot of the games have been upgraded with community-created unofficial patches that fix a lot of their bugs and compatibility problems. You can find them here:

    • I advise installing the CnCNet online play installer for RA2/YR. Even if you're not interested in online play, it comes with a bunch of automatic fixes. It should automatically take care of the "black screen on startup" issue, and has a configuration tool that allows further tweaking of the game's settings.

    Generals:

    • GenTool seems to be the main patch for Generals these days. The website is kind of vague on what it does besides restoring multiplayer and adding anti-cheat, but I heard it does a lot to make it work better on modern OSes too.
    • If you have issues with DirectX errors popping up, find and delete the file "dbghelp.dll" in the game's install folder.

    I was going to ask if there was a way of fixing the slow play and scrolling in Red Alert 2. Then I decided to install the CnCNet Online play installer. I wasn't really sure what it was going to do but it did exactly what I wanted it to. I don't play on-line. But the game plays at a good speed and the scrolling is great. Thank you.

    @Nyerguds I spoke too soon. Playing Red Alert 2 using the CnCNet (offline) when I try and load a saved game, it crashes. I get a message that says:
    Yuri's Revenge encountered an internal error and is unable to continue normally.
    Please visit our forums as https://forums.cncnet.org/ for the latest updates and technical support.

    I shall go to the cncnet form and see if someone can help.
    Or if anyone here knows how to stop it from crashing, I'd be grateful.

    @rikdatta After installing CnCNet on it, try just running the game normally through Origin, not through the CnCNet launchers.

    CnCNet applies their compatibility fixes on both RA2 and YR, but it's possible that CnCNet's own launchers are only meant for multiplayer.
