I'm in the UK if it's relevant.
The problem is still extant today. However, I'm also now getting "Could not connect to the server, please try again in a few minutes."

I've been through the password reset process to no avail.
Is anyone from Origin / EA actually reading this forum?

I just purchased C&C3 and kane's wrath standalones through origin and I'm getting the exact same error with Tiberium Wars. Kane's Wrath starts up fine though. The only advice I found googling is to remove the PACE Anti-Piracy license folder, but there's no such folder on my PC.
Have you been able to fix this issue yourself in the meantime?

live chat was no help either, however I luckily stumbled upon a solution.

We would like to suggest you to please make a screen name by following steps and link the screen name to your EA account . The steps are :
1- Create an account in www.pogo.com
2- Login into www.profile.ea.com using the EA email id and password.
3- Scroll down the page, click on " Add Persona".
4- Select option " existing EA classic screen name". It will open a login window.
5- Login using pogo screen name and password.
6- Click on " Add Persona".
7- Now pogo screen name should appear under " Select a default persona" heading.
8- Double click on the pogo screen name.
After the screen name attach to your account . Please uninstall the game and re-install.
**************************************************************************All I did was create a pogo account, and add the pogo account to my EA persona. steps 7 & 8 were not necessary, nor was reinstalling the game. it asked once more to verify my ownership, but after entering my credentials the game launched.
