I fought adding maps to tiberium wars for 4 days on and off. It now works. This was difficult to figure out. Here is what I discovered about it. I have windows 8. I downloaded the game from origin. It is a 64 bit system but for our purposes of this game it is a 32bit machine.
1st. Download and install the registry fix file you can find on google. get that installed.
2nd get some maps for TW.
3rd put them in a folder called maps under appdata as previously describe in these articles. you have I am sure read everything.
4th run the game. forget clicking on custom maps under skirmish. they will not appear there.
5th create a new skirmish and you just might see those maps have appeared.
I hope this helps someone. It has worn me out fixing this and I have yet to do kanes wrath but I figure and hope it might work similarly. note that apparently it requires a different map version than the ones for tw. but they are available , same maps online for each. I got 50 or so of them for tw in half an hour or less.
If all this fails, edit your registry and remove the last \ from the install directory entry. I did that too and it got the world builder map creator working under kw. else it said my game was not installed. You can about forget playing tw or kw online as the login script is screwed.
