Forum Discussion
@MADrag0n Isn't it logic that if you don't own a game on Origin itself, that it won't show up in your Origin library? Having a game on Origin isn't the same as having a key coupled to your EA-account. He doesn't own the Ultimate Collection.... Origin was even released more than 1 year after CNC4 was released on Steam, so it is to assume of course that it wasn't integrated into Origin. Do you think @TERORISTU is lying or what? With the proof of purchase he showed us and the fact many people have these problems, I think it is safe to assume he isn't manipulating us. I really thought @TERORISTU was to blame (like having another account, actually not owning the game etc.), but I'm starting to think EA and Steam are here at fault.
EA should be able to provide him with the username to which the key is coupled; if there even is one, as it could also be that this is all caused by a bug... It doesn't matter that EA is not responsible, but they are well able to help him with finding out WHY the key seems to have already been redeemed.
The thing here is that since the start of our discussion @MADrag0n asked me for bunch of SS even with personal infos about my games and stuff , because i think he want me to quit and never came with a solution for me, on the other side @mrtnptrs sent links, asked only questions that are relevant.
I dont wanna blame no one, but i will stop answering @MADrag0n questions because i feel like he is trying to say that im here to make EA look bad and he only want to make POSTS on the forum to gain attention. As i stated before, i can provide any kind of proof that im the owner of that CD-KEY and i cannot redeem it since the cd-key was already redeemed by another user that no one will proove me that, but i must belive what EA support say and origin website where it say that the cd-key its already redeemed.

@TERORISTU Ok, I think I was wrong about the price of the game as it now also says it is 19.99 euros on Steam. I would swear it was less yesterday, but I was probably mistaken. Excuses.
@MADrag0n Seems to not always be right when he says something and asks some questions maybe too many times, but don't assume the worst of people; he also wants to help you.
Edit: Not as a personal attack or something, but I did some research on @MADrag0n He seems to be some kind of moderator without having the title under his name. He sometimes helps people, but generally moves posts around to place them at the correct place. I thus think you can trust that he has good intentions, although I would have to agree with you that his advice isn't always that useful to you. But hey, everyone makes mistakes; we're only human 🙂
Edit2: Bit off-topic, but this is one of the reasons many people are against DRM as it can malfunction over-time; like the original CNC-games disk-versions not working anymore with Windows 10 because of SecuRom not working anymore.
@TERORISTU I'm now installing the Origin-version of CNC4 myself to test some things and maybe I can get a solution/workaround for you. Could you maybe send me your e-mailadress via a private message on here so I can send you the solution to test it when/if I have it? As I first wanna test it with you before I post about it here. And if you can get it working, you can finally see how bad this game really is haha :P

@TERORISTU As u wish, I don't try to help u any more.
I will just call here another Hero @Nyerguds who knows much more about C&C than me. Let him express his opinion about this situation.
I also ask him to clarify to me the question I asked #56-2. Thank you and goodbye. ) - mrtnptrs6 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Nyerguds is an awesome guy. He helps everyone with problems with especially the older CNC-games with almost always asking relevant questions. So, you don't have to worry about him 🙂 I have never seen him talk about CNC4 though, so I don't know if he knows much about it. We will see.
@TERORISTU Could you maybe send me your Steam-username so I can take a look at it and make sure your steam-profile is public? To double-confirm everything.... If you don't want to publicly share it, you could also send it by private messaging if you want.

I can confirm that @TERORISTU indeed owns the game in his Steam-library (which we kinda already knew). He is now chatting with Steam-support again with the hopes they can fix it.

Sorry, but, I know how to fix issues in the actual C&C games, specifically the older ones (C&C1 / Red Alert 1 / Tiberian Sun).
I'm just a volunteer here, though. I know nothing about the internal management or redeeming of keys; that's the job of the actual support teams. Given that this is a Steam issue, though, it seems like Steam should resolve it...

@Nyerguds Yes, @TERORISTU told me in private chat that he is contacting Steam about it, who will probably respond in a day or so. Hopefully they can help him out with this weird issue.

Seems LIKE steam contacted ea and my issue is solve in another way. Close Topic, ty vm.

Good to hear, good luck.
- mrtnptrs6 years agoSeasoned Ace
@TERORISTUYou told me in private chat that Steam just provided you with a new key/activation for free. So, there was zero contact between EA and Steam as the keys are automatically provided to Steam. Thus advice for other people with this problem: contact Steam and give them all the proof they need to show this is an issue many people have and that you can't do anything about it.
Edit: I was wrong in this message, see the reactions below!

By the way, in the beginning of the discussion about this problem we talked about the price of CNC4. Recently in different media it was reported that EA increased the prices of their old games on Steam. See: https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-has-jacked-up-the-prices-of-lots-of-old-games-on-steam/ They doubled the price of CNC 4 to 20 euros. This is why I first saw a lower and then a higher price on Steam, which really confused me. Just wanted to explain that 🙂

@mrtnptrs Read again what i wrote in our steam chat, i never said that steam provided me with a free cd-key O_o , please read what i wrote. I told you that i was informed that after Steam contacted EA for my issue , both could cofrm that my cd-key should work , and EA doesnt know it isnt working. SO steam decided to give me a cd-key for another game (QUAKE 4) because my issue with C&C 4 wont be solved.
Before posting , please read carefully what is wrote down.
- mrtnptrs6 years agoSeasoned Ace@TERORISTU Yes, you're right, you told me "so steam decided to help me and gave me a free game" and I assumed you meant CNC4 as you didn't talk about any other game haha. So, the issue isn't really solved and they just gave you a good but veeeeeeeery cheap game....
