Try to disable the In-Game overlay in Origin settings. This resolved my game launch issues with Red Alert 2 and Generals.
Ok So I've worked my way through the thread trying each step and I still have the black screen with the game running behind it. I can click on the in game menu(blindly) and hear it going into each bit. But I still have a black screen with a cursor..
I'm running windows 10 and here's what I've tried so far:
Set RA2 to run in windows xp S2 mode with 16 bit colour and run as admin. Failed
Copy and pasted the RA2.ini file as showed in the thread... Failed
ran compatibility test in windows 10 all options failed.
tried running it all the way back to vista via the compatibility tab... failed.
Anyone come up with anything else I could try please?

I tried this Youtube fix tonight and it seems to have done the job - won't know for definite until a full run of the game, BUT i do have the menus working and not just the blank screen as before...
