Command & Conquer games won't start

thx its the same problem but the workaround doesnt work ☹️ so i hope EA fix this fast

@Amanas_DrakeYou're sure you followed the steps correctly? You also restarted your computer after doing those steps from the workaround? Neither of the 'English (United States)' or 'Beta: use unicode utf-8 for worldwide language support.' options worked for you to fix the launching problems? Do the games show any error or do they just not start? Are you able to start any of the CNC-games from The Ultimate Collection? 

Make sure you follow the steps from 505243267's post (see that link again) and not my post below it, as those are the steps on how to reproduce the problem.

fixed it ... need a bit tweaking with options.ini 

@Amanas_DrakeNext time try to be clearer with your description of your issue, so we can help you better 🙂 Options.ini fixing your issues indicates that you probably got a serious error during the launch or Generals and Zero hour... which you didn't mention.

My fix was to disable ASLR in windows defender. Its the exploit protection. Everything works fine again!

Well, the case was everything was just fine yesterday after a windows update, im not sure which one. KB4537572 KB0565063 KB4551762

I tried everything what i could find on the internet, also complete reinstall. nothing worked out.

Won't launch at all, with no errors:  C&C 3, 4, generals. After that i tried GTA5(complete other engine and pretty more up to date i suggest)  and that one gave me a error that suggest an memory error (social-club-setup.exe 0xc000007b). After some googling i found

Disable controlled folder access and mandatory ASLR in windows defender - (that is NOT disabling windows defender) - or add socialclubsetup to exclusions for those.
(if you enable them via the registry, disable them that way too -.-)

*Seeing as there is a new launcher/procedures - the launcher install itself may needed to be also excluded/whitelisted in defender, as well as the launcher install folder / .exe's, and even the redistribs folder/subfolders for even more .exe's ---- the ones no longer contained in the game's folder. Hooray, file duplication/bloat.

Disabling controlled folder access only didnt do the job, after disabling all exploit protection everything was fine again.
