command and conquer generals will not load

For me I was able to get it to work by clicking on the Origin Client program and on the top left of the screen there is a subtitle that says "Origin" . Left click on that, and then a menu drops down where you will need to left click on the tab which says "Application Settings" then left click on tab that says "Origin in Game".  Make sure that the box is "Unchecked" where it says "Enable Origin in Game".  then try and restart your game. It might work for you as it did for me.

The box is checked and will not uncheck.

I had the same problem as you. It all started a few days ago (around November 6th) immediately after the latest Origin update. At first I couldn't change the settings. I tried rebooting the computer a half dozen times but still I was unable to "Uncheck " that stupid box. Finally I gave up and the next day when I turned on my computer I thought I would give it another try, and for whatever reason, I was "magically" able to uncheck it. After I unchecked it, I was able to play the game and have been able to ever since. Don't have a clue as to why I couldn't uncheck it at first, then all of sudden I could uncheck it  the next day?????  But I am not complaining. All I can suggest is try rebooting your computer a few times and see if you are then able to uncheck it. If that doesn't work then turn the power completely off and let it sit for a few minutes, maybe that will help.

I did the uncheck origin in game thingy and it still doesn't load.
