Command and Conquer Generals/ZH missing "ssleasy32.dll" file

First off, I have an Alienware 17, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB of RAM, Intel i7-4210MQ CPU @ 2.50GHz.

Upon installation of the Ultimate Collection, I installed Generals first. This is the game that I wanted to play. I disabled Origin overlay, ran compatibility mode for XP SP3 as Admin, and I have downloaded the DirectX SDK for March 2008. I have followed many of the examples used in other posts to fix this issue but to no avail.

When you start the .exe, the Generals "loading screen" appears then goes to the Black Screen of Death. You hear "EA Games" then the game minimizes to the taskbar. Only if you right-click the game, will it display the error message "Missing ssleasy32.dll". Any help would be appreciated. I really want to go back in time. 🙂

Update: I have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, and I still have this issue. I have even chosen the "Repair My Game" option in Origin. I have also recreated the "Options.ini" file for both Generals and Generals:ZH.
Older games play just fine like RA2 and the original Command and Conquer. This is puzzling. I do not want to go ".dll fishing" because I might catch more than I desire by doing so.

Thank you for the help, Nyerguds. The missing DirectX files was causing this to crash.

To recap for future knowledge of others with this issue...

    Run the game as administrator

    Set up the Options.ini file

Enable Compatibility Mode for the Application

Download DirectX SDK for March 2008 and the End User Runtimes for DirectX9.0 and 10.0 in the above links.
