Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Can I play with people on Steam?

So I want to buy the command and conquer Ultimate collection pack, mainly for the command and conquer red alert series and generals. A few of my friends have red alert 3 on STEAM though. So I was just wondering if I could still play red alert 3 online with them even though they are on steam and im on Origin.
