I've not tried this but try compatibility mode:
- Accessing Compatibility Mode:
-
- Right-click the program's executable file.
- Select "Properties".
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
- Using Compatibility Mode:
-
- Run the Compatibility Troubleshooter: If you're unsure which compatibility settings to use, run the troubleshooter, which will automatically detect the best settings.
- Select a Previous Windows Version: Under the "Compatibility mode" section, check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select the appropriate Windows version from the dropdown.
- Adjust Other Compatibility Options: You can also adjust other compatibility options, such as running the program as an administrator or with specific display settings.
This should at least point you in the right direction. A black screen is frequently associated with display settings or card issues. Have you tried asking EA help for this?

Any help to be found for this? I just bought C&C Ultimate Collection (EA App version). When I try to start Command & Conquer (the very first game in the series) I just get a black screen and nothing more. I'm also using Windows 11.
EA are thieves. no up date for this. you can install the games but they wont launch. there happy to take your money but wont offer fixes or support
I tried that but the game doesn't get minimised at the start menu. Instead two options pop up. 1) Download Origin 2) Launch Origin. When I launch origin it leads to the same issue as described in my first post above. But thank you for your help 🙂
log into Origin on the web go to Generals and on the orange launch box will say play on origin click n that and the game will launch minimised to the start bar click on it and it should work hope this helps
