display settings won't change

I have had to reinstall Windows 11

I have redownloaded the EA App and reinstalled C&C 3. I will also be downloading the other C&C games I have in my library.

When changing the Display settings in the game options I cannot save the changed setting. The default is 800x600 which is not satisfactory and I select something much higher.

After making the appropriate selection I get the standard warning about changing display options, I can accept that and then another dialogue with a YES/NO option appears that has a timeout of 10 seconds. When this last dialogue appears the mouse disappears and neither selection can be made. Manually keying Y or 'Enter' for Yes doesn't work either. This dialogue expires and the display setting remains unchanged.

This behaviour is not acceptable and as far as I'm concerned renders the game unplayable.

I haven't installed the other C&C games in my library yet so I'm not sure if they are working properly at this time, but C&C 3 is definitely non functional.
