Is your operating system a 64 or a 32 bits version?
Older versions do not run on 64 bits, and will require a bit of fiddling around with the installation.
How do you fiddle around with the installation? as i have a 64-bit 😕mileyindifferent:

installed by clickin on install and then followed onscreen instructions
