I just purchased the digital download of the command and conquer ultimate collection. i downloaded the first game i played when i was younger, tiberium wars, the game just hangs up. nothing happens. i dont have any anti virus running or any secondary programs running. im running windows 8.1. i have to get into the task manager to end program to shut it off. Please help.

Wow. Depending on whether you include Renegade and the expansion packs, that's somewhere around the 5th to 13th game in the series. You should really start from the start...
Anyway... some more information would help. Where does it hang? On startup? In the main menu? During gameplay? What do you see at the moment it hangs?
hes probebly sorted his problem but i have the same one. it hangs at "updating component registration" just sits there when i attempt to close it goes into a "not responding" state. im running windows 7 64bit but the game has worked before. i own 2 disks (for lan) but neither work. also if i attempt to reinstall it starts from the ame point it stopped at. maybe if i can find out how to remove the already installed files (not in add remove progs) i could start a fresh install. ive downloaded MS directx SDK (march 2008) and set hardware acceleration on both 32 and 64 bit.
