Game crashes at start since last patch 1.153.735514,

Not sure if support can be applied.

I don't know the exact EA policy about the subject.

I am playing under wine, with a custom playonlinux prefix.
Debian 10; with 5.6-2-lutris-x86-64 (also tested with 5.7 version without success) for the wine version.
Ryzen 1700+
32 GB Ram.
Geforce GTX 1660.

The origin client is installed and works fine.
The game used to work with the version previous to the patch, assuming it was 1.153.732159,
Now with version 1.153.735514  it just crashes at start with a petrogliph crash report

"Creating crash report...
Saving crash report... Writing dump file... "

I am not even sure if the report actually works, clicking ok does not nothing.
I don't know where to look in the logs to have an hints of what is causing the game to crash at start now.

Both classic and red alert games are crashing the same way, but I only plays the classic game for now, as I am redoing the solo campaign.

Any help or tips would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

  • Problem solved.

    I moved out of the wine prefix the Origin Game folder

    I cleared out the wine prefix.

    Then I installed with winetricks:
    corefonts
    d3dcompiler_43
    d3dcompiler_47
    d3dx9
    winhttp
    wininet

    I manually installed
    * VC++ Runtime 2015/2017/2019 Win32
    * VC++ Runtime 2015/2017/2019 Win64

    Reinstalled the origin client.

    I installed dxvk-1.7

    Moved back the Game Folder to its place. (I actually made a symlink)

    Now it works
