Game crashes when changing resolution

I just installed red alert 3: uprising and opened the game. It plays perfectly well except i cant change the reslution to 1920x1080. When i change the resolution it crashes. Anyone can help me?  My ...

    if you have windows 8 you might have the same problem i had... i solved it by looking for the RA3EP1.exe in windows explorer, right clicking it -> properties -> compatibility -> disable display scaling on high DPI settings... it now works fine

I have this same issue.  I get taken back to the desktop at 800x600 and a popup telling me a "pure virtual function called" with 256 adresses.  I have tried all of the previous fixes of which none have worked.  I know I can max this game my problem is simply the resolution issue.

    I got this to work on Windows 8.1 by using the above workaround 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings' and selecting 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' Windows 7.
