Gameplay freezes for 10 seconds every 2 minutes.

Recently installed Steam version of Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun. After installing on hard drive I have about 40 gb left on a 250gb ssd. Worked good at the beginning. After 1 month, I recently got back into it. Gameplay freezes every 2 minutes for about 10 seconds. Verified files through Steam and still same problem. Installed on my other drive and have about 450 gb left on a 1tb drive. Still the same problem. Please help.
