GDI OP

Hi,

GDI is is ridicolous imbalanced atm:

Predator > Scorpion

Pitbull > Nod-Mots

Sandstorm >> Stealthtank -> just had a lvl 11 Sandstorm killing 3 (!) lvl 10 Scorpions in a row, are you serious?

Kodiak >> Inferno -> If you face 2 Kodiaks in front of your base, you have lost. Tried to defend against 2 Kodiaks with 3 Banhees at same level, by the time you get one down, your base is already dead. And the next Kodiak arrives already.

Jackson >> Roxanna

Sandstorm should do less damage against vehicles bc it is mainly an anti air unit, Kodiak should do less damage against structures bc it is an anti tank unit imo, and there is no reason why Roxanna should be so much worse than jackson.

  • Lol. Check out my thread titled.. why do the devs hate gdi. I find that its actually nod thats op. I have much easier time wininng with nid than gdi. Because gdi is just so slow and nod has too many options. Anyway, to your points...

Pitbull vs bikes: both have advantages and disadvantages. Pitbulls win against bikes but cost more and are slower. Any pro player will tell u, speed is just as much, if not more important than combat toughness in tbis game. On the plus side, they can fire while moving. But than again, they cost more.

Preds vs scorps: preds beat scorps, but the game isnt just between these two. Scorps are overall more useful than preds due to higher speed and firepower. Of course this is a subjective opinion, but this is a majority opinion evidenced by the fact that far more people use the scorp than the pred. Just check cnc tv and have a glance at how many nod decks have the scorp, then check how many gdi decks have the pred. Youll find that scorps are more more popular... for a reason.

Inferno vs kodiac: how someone else mentioned, these two should not be compared. However if you must compare them it needs to be pointed out that the Kodiak is only effective against vehicles and base while the Inferno beats almost any ground unit including zone Troopers, cyborgs etc.

But why stop there? Lets compare the mammoth with the avatar, wardog with the wheels, the inferno with the orca bomber, scarabs with the mg unut. Avatars are very popular while mammoths are rarely used. Guess why. And i strongly feel that the wheels need nerfing badly. They make thre barracks totally useless and can be spammed so easily.

Is the wolverine the exception? Its not useful against tanks but shreds through aircraft faster than a glutton through a buffet. Are there any other anti-air that can easily handle infantry? I would want to suggest the Gatling tank from the RA2 series, it would fit well with either GDI or Nod. It could become the counterpart of the sandstorm as a Nod exclusive unit, acting like the anti-infantry version.

The nod equivalent of wolverine is the widowmaker which also kills both infantry and air units, and it kills air units faster than the wolverine.

  • @longjohn87686 so I watched the video... and I have tons of questions.

    1. why did you neglect the pads? All you did was go after the Harvesters and once that didn’t work you just kept sacrificing your units to the Sandstorms.
    2. When you attacked the Sandstorm with your Scorpion Tank, why did you remain still? The advantage of the ST is that you can fire while moving. Sending an undermatched unit to go toe to toe with a higher level much more OP unit and not utilizing its strength is just bad management. Keep moving passed the Storm and hopefully you can get to a position that it can’t fire on you while you are still firing on it.
    3. Why did you just let your ST’s sit there and get destroyed by the higher ranked Pitbulls? Once you destroyed the Harvester, you should’ve moved your tank away from the PB so he couldn’t continue just sitting there and firing on you. You could’ve also blocked of the tiberium from being farmed from the new Harvester coming.

Are wolverines and widowmakers the only anti-air that is good at striking infantry? The rhino doesn't seem to be good against anti-air, but can definitely shoot it.

  • Just an interesting numerical analysis and for further discussion (sorry for the poor plot):

Looking at the Top 100 players in GDI and NOD and their medals, it is found that Top 80 NOD players have generally higher medal comparing with GDI ones of same rank, while GDI players have higher medal in the 80-100th rank.

My guess is NOD units are better in mobility and good at unit counter, which favour good and fast controlling skill as well as early-mid game rush, while GDI units are tougher but less variety in build.

Another guess is NOD have stronger epic units, which are favourable for top P2W players.

Ha, I just waited for someone to come up and mention my bad gameplay. You are right, I played really, really poor in this one. The only reason I shared it was to proof that Sandstorm is op.

Basically, that game was lost right from the start. With the deck I used I had to deny second harv immediately, which I tried. After my Scorpion got eaten by the highlvl Pitbull while doing so, I knew the game was lost and played without any effort after that.

I appreciate your effort, but also I think the top 0.05% of players should not be the scale for all players.

  • GDI is weaker than NOD. because banshee, lasers, chembuggy and nod mots counter everything
