has EA updated the AI on old command and conquer games to a modern one?

i was playing command and conquer kane's wrath as i do and suddenly the AI acted like a player... no joke lol. it honestly feels like EA either hijack the AI or the AI is far more advanced than the original version... they countered everything i did without a single mistake, then sent a barrage of juggernauts one after the other. i spent ages building my base scraping resources got it safe enough to build an attacking force and the AI just suddenly changed and wasted me no effort...
