I can't get xpadder to work with Command and Conquer
I use xpadder with my xbox 360 controller whenever I play PC games of any age or genre because I like to relax on the couch and play through my tv rather than be hunched over at a computer desk or playing from my lap. I recently bought the Command and Conquer collection and downloaded the first game in the series. I have windows 7 64 bit and thankfully haven't been having some of the color issues that a lot of people have been complaining about. The game freezes for a few seconds here and there once in awhile which seems ridiculous to me for a 20 year old game, but for the most part, it's playable. I can't get xpadder to work with this game. I looked through various forums and the internet for answers and the best ones I could find were about changing the administrator permissions on xpadder, which I did. Still nothing. What else could it be or is in not possible for this game through Origin.net?
Um.... what? Consoles are awful for RTS. Why on earth would you want console controls for the PC version? Use a mouse, sheesh.
As for your issue, though... did you actually try if it worked without that XPadder? Because these games have a serious issue with Origin's "Origin In Game" system.
Open the game's properties in the Origin client, and check the "Disable Origin In Game" option.
If the option is greyed out, this means you tried to launch the game, and due to the malfunction, Origin thinks it's still running. To fix that, either kill the game launcher in the Task Manager, or just restart your computer. For the rest, when talking about C&C1, RA1 and TS, you're better off installing their unofficial patches first. They fix a TON of stuff.

RA1: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/
TS: http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?topic=3438.0Both C&C1 and RA1 are known to have problems with left-handed mouse setup though, so I can easily see something like an xbox controller messing up as well.
