Is it possible to transfer serial keys from old Command & Conquer Games to Origin?
Dear EA community,
After talking with friends about these great game series, we decided to play these good old games again. While some of them had a version of The First Decade, others have bought the Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection, I have the original version on CD. We wanted to play Command & Conquer Generals with the Zero Hour Expansion, so I decided to use my original version of Generals and Zero Hour.
With my original copy of Generals & Zero Hour, I was able to get back online but every game appears to be gray. When I try to join a game, it tells me that the game is in a different version. While I have the latest version installed, v1.04, I still get the message "Failed to join - the game is a different version". After re-installing it from CD and patching again, I still get this message. Strangely, when we were at a LAN-party together, I was able to play the game normally with my friends but back at home when I try to join online games it just doesn't want to work.
As a big fan of Command & Conquer, I've bought a lot of the Command & Conquer games close after their release date. Packs like The First Decade and The Ultimate Collection are awesome, but since I already own most of the games and expansions that these packs offer, I didn't buy neither of these packs.
I used to be able to play online with my original version but unfortunately this is not the case anymore. Now here's my question:
Is it possible to transfer my original serials keys to my Origin account? Friends of mine are playing a lot of Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour again and I would really like to join them in their online battle. I know that games prior to 2009 are not compatible with Origin but since the online service for the game is still working. I was wondering what I have to do to make use of that online service. Until now, the only game I was able to transfer to Origin was Red Alert 3. But we would enjoy playing Generals Zero Hour more.
I hope there is an easy way to resolve this situation, like sending in my original serials keys via E-mail?
Kind regards,
MiniMiy
