19:09:37 Error installing DirectX runtime. Please check DirectX install log file typically in C:\Windows\Logs\DirectX.log.
So... did you do that?
The DirectX package it tries to install is probably the DirectX Redistributables package from June 2010. You could try installing it manually and see if that makes the installation skip this check. Or, just run the "dxsetup.exe" it mentions there, if it's in the folder.
Thanks for your message.
I downloaded the file you mentioned and the install failed. I am attaching the log as well as a screen capture from dxdiag command.
Hope you can provide guidance on what to do next so I can fix this issue

@leon_trotzky Well, did you look inside the logs?
The directx.log doesn't actually seem to contain any error messages; it just shows the component is apparently already installed.
The DXError.log seems to complain about being unable to load the "C:\Windows\system32\xactengine2_0.dll" library. Did you check if the mentioned file exist on your system?Note that this is a 32-bit game, so it might actually be looking for this "xactengine2_0.dll" inside "C:\Windows\SysWOW64", which is the 32-bit compatibility folder for system32. I have the library in both locations, but the file sizes are diffferent (348kb for system32, 225kb for sysWOW64), since one is the 64-bit version and the other the 32-bit version.
(I really don't understand why they didn't just call the folder "system64" on 64-bit systems. Calling the 32-bit compatibility folder something with "64" in the name is extremely confusing)
