Issues with Online
Hi There I have an issue with online connection. For some reason quickmatch, join and host have now been blanked out. This has just happened randomly .....
EDIT ----- it worked.... for a few hours .... now the problem is worse thaan before! :(
😁SOLUTION!!!!!!!
Hi all ..... it looks like we have a solution! this is what was given to me by the EA technical chat team. the three that worked for me were all found in this long list! managed to play 6 games on the trot without any issues so far! Hope this helps! will report back in a few days!
I have added *** to the ones that i did which all combined together worked to fix this issue
*** Disable All In-Game Overlays
The most common cause of immediate crashes or black screens when connecting to a lobby is the EA App or Steam overlay.
For EA App: Open the EA App, go to Settings > Application, and toggle off In-game overlay.
For Steam: Right-click the game in your Library, select Properties, and uncheck Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.
Other Overlays: Close apps like Discord, MSI Afterburner, or GeForce Experience that may be injecting overlays.
*** Verify Game Files & Permissions
Corrupted files often trigger "Server Error" or prevent games from starting.
Steam users: Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.
EA App users: Click the three dots (...) on the game tile and select Repair.
Administrator Mode: Navigate to the game's installation folder, right-click the ClientLauncher.exe, select Properties > Compatibility, and check Run this program as an administrator.
Account & Launcher Troubleshooting
If you cannot even begin a game or receive persistent server errors, the problem may be the connection between the launcher and EA servers.
Relinking Accounts: Ensure your Steam account is correctly linked to your EA account. Some users find success by logging out of both and logging back in.
Advanced Launch Options: For those using the EA App, try adding -REDALERT or -TIBERIAN to the Advanced Launch Options in the game properties to bypass potential launcher bugs.
Network & Connectivity Fixes
Wait for Connection: Some users have reported that the "Connecting to Game Server" screen can take 5–10 minutes to actually load into a lobby due to server latency.
Firewall Exclusion: Add the game's installation folder as an exclusion in Windows Defender or your third-party antivirus to prevent it from blocking the network handshake.
Sync Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows version is fully updated. Incompatibilities between players with different Windows update versions can cause desyncs during the connection phase.
Resolution & Hardware Conflicts
Match Resolutions: Ensure your desktop resolution matches your in-game resolution. Large discrepancies (e.g., 4K desktop vs 1080p game) can cause black screens upon transition to the multiplayer lobby.
*** Clear Cache: Delete the "Replays" folder located in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Command & Conquer Remastered to clear potentially corrupted session data.

Glad to hear those steps have helped out in your situation Lauriello123, thanks for sharing!
This is still an open issue being looked into on our end so while these steps likely won't fix things for everyone, it could definitely be worth giving them a try for those that haven't already done so.
Hello EA_Mako ,
hopefully you will find a solution for all the other players. Looks like still most of us are having the same issue besides the tip to deactivate all overlays.
Not trying to be negative here but this will not fix it. Its server side issue and not local.
Still down unfortunately.
