Mayday!Mayday!Direct3D error!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought Command and Conquer pack , when i run Command and Conquer 3 system at the first time the graphic is too low(800*600)  so i want to change it to 1366*768, but when i did this the game crashed...

    I had this same issue, Direct3D error 0x0x8876086a (D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE) listing 18 errors and such !!!!!!! This is how I solved my issue . Open Nvidia Geforce control panel . Click on "Manage 3D settings" Then click "Programs settings" tab Look for CNC3Launcher. If it's not listed click "ADD" then click "Browse" to tell it where the CNCLauncher.exe is . Mine was E:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Command and Conquer 3 TW and KW\CNCLauncher. Once it's added to the list scroll down to preferred refresh rate and set it to "Application-controlled" then click "Apply" That's it ! Good luck and I hope this helps :-)

is it possible to get an updated solution to this, the same problem is persisting and the option of "preferred refresh rate" no longer exists. many thanks if anyone can help\

NEVER MIND IT FINALLY GOT FIXED. If you are having this problem you MUST do the full manual uninstall that involves going into the registry. many thanks to the EA forum community been spending hours trying to fix this.
