Need a Resign Button

Why is there not a resign button? If you are going up against a player that you don't want to play, right now you have to shutdown your whole game. Suggested Solution: A resign button. The player r...

    The possibility to surrender has always been a part of any strategy game ever. It's just that Redwood, for whatever strange reason, cannot find a decent developer who is able to do this. Or they have some idiot manager who decided that this should not be in the game, because he is an idiot who has zero understanding of strategy games.

If you put a resign button, you'll ruin the game. People would resign once their Scarabs didn't work. They would resign when there 2 harvesters got taken out. They would resign when when they opened up with a chem buggy and their opponent opened up with a war or air factory. They would resign when they lose the first missile. Ect. The game already sucks when people disconnect. If you make it easier to disconnect, the game would get worse.

You've never won against someone who clearly was beating you? That's the only way to learn.

What’s wrong with that? A win is a win. I’d rather win in 20 seconds than 5 minutes.

    I used to stick it out until the bitter end in Hearthstone but the longer I played the faster I realized when a loss was inevitable.  Why waste your time and their time?

    I still have yet to intentionally disconnect in this game, but I could see that day coming regardless of a UI element - when hanging in there is more boring than watching paint dry.

      I've stomped players and been stomped just a handful of times each...  It's rare that a "hardcore stomp" actually occurs, but when it does the losing-player just stops doing stuff and the game usually ends in the next 30 to 40 seconds.  There is no reason to add a resign button, it will only lower the quality of games because people will quit for the dumbest reasons.

        That's why they want them. They want to be able to quit when they start off with scarabs and your 10 tiberium riflemen  take them out or if they start out with 2 harvesters and you send missiles or laser to take them out.

        They only want to play one way. They want to be left alone until their tech units come out.

      Then we can lower the amount of medals for the winner. they still earn something but not making it a main way to win. The thing is, eventually, you will start being placed in a league surrounded by people your skill level, and you will be able to win normally. This will be able separate the casual and hardcore gamers. Everyone has fun. Their fair play system is not bad, combined with a system that helps match making, the it would be awesome. the resign button is a solution.

      What about those players who had already won but just camp at your base waiting for more kills and only finishing in the last minute? 

      That's unfair Play and gets an instant quit from me. If you want this rule than those Players must get a break let's say 30 days.

      I'm not playing this game to make my opponent happy or to entertain him. I want to win and the less fun he had thats much better was my job.

        That's understandable. It doesn't happen often however. I've been on this game since the beginning and it's only happened to me once. 

        When I realized what he was doing, I didn't build anymore units. He got bored and finally finished me off. 

        Disconnecting in that case makes perfect sense. But not enough to need a button to be abused.
