It takes a talon forever to kill chem troops and it looses against lasers.
With more units you have more options to make a deck. This one unit can enable a new deck which was missing a key unit before.
Do you know what makes chembuggy so damn strong? It‘s damage combined with the raider ability. Talons have to stay still to attack, making them an easy target for bikes. And even if they attack, their damage isn‘t that great. Razorback can move around infantry while dodging enemy bikes. It‘s also a lot of fun to use!
Nobody is forcing you to use the new unit. You don‘t have to. Play how you want. I personally will use it x)

I use Talons in conjunction with other units to take down chem warriors. Everything is a compromise. If Micromanaged correctly, you can make due with less.
For example, Shockwaves are the natural counter to zonetroopers. But if you send a squad of rifleman at them along with the Talon, they are toast.
