Yes, I did press spacebar to toggle to the expected resolution as advised by some online players.  However, when I pressed spacebar, the game crashed and quit....feeling so bad about it.

Uhhh.... and you didn't bother to say that in your original post? That's an actual tech issue :-\

Does your system meet the minimum requirements for the game?

Hi there.  Thanks for your reply.  I just browsed through the options of the game settings and finally, I noticed that I could change the toggle key from space bar to another one....and I changed to the letter "c".....and when I played the game, I just hit the "c" key and the game's resolution switched to 1920 x 1080.  I never thought that the toggle key of space bar was a culprit.  Problem solved....

Note that there is a known issue where some keys toggle twice; once when pressing it down, and again when releasing it. If you have this issue, resetting the key binds to their default should fix it (even if you decide to tweak them again afterwards).
