I know that compatibility modes can limit the max. resolution, it could be that EA was setting it to Win9x mode during the installation. Try to turn them off and check what happens
Ive tried windows 98/ME, XP SP2/3, Vista and 7. Also no compatability. All same result. Just an interesting point. YURI.exe is locked in windows 95 compatability. Unable to change! Possibly something to do with it?
You might be able to remove the compat modes directly via the registry, make sure you are logged in as adminitrator. Take care of Game.exe and Gamemd.exe too
I navigated to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
Deleted the entries for RA2 and YR. Although Yuri.exe was shown as XP SP3 in there. It is still in windows 95 compatibility and unselectable 😕mileymad:
