Red Alert 2 - Error unable to set video mode - need help

sorry for late reply but im gonna put this here incase anyone else looks for it. a lot of old games dont work on newer operating systems because of a new graphics thing called INTERLACING. its in your display settings and youll be able to google the exact method for your OS. turning this off worked for all command and conquer games as well as (if EA will allow me to name non ea games on here) worms armageddon, total annihilation, baldurs gate and nox. (think nox is EA) hope this helps.

Thank you FUNKYFR3 I used the 'reduced color mode' in COMPATABILITY mode from 8bit to 16bit color mode and the game launched IT WORKED!

Is this different with the EA app? I was able to fix it once, but now it doesn't let me save the notepad config. files because it says I don't have permission. Can anyone help?
