I checked the cloud storage thing, and I can't really tell whether it's on or off. This is a screenshot of what it looked like, I haven't touched anything:

This is what it looks like on all my games, from the same collection and not. The only checkbox is unticked everywhere, but i guess it's still off, because in all games I have a "percentage used" value of zero, except for Bad Company 2, where it shows a few KB used.
I am not using saves from the CD version, just saves made through the Origin version of the game.
Running as administrator does nothing, as for some reason, the game only starts through the Origin library: none of the executables in the game folder actually start the game if run directly.
I tend to exclude a bad write of the save, because some rare times the same file loads correctly and other times it doesn't. Saving and loading in the same session makes no difference: 99 times in 100 it doesn't load and once in a blue moon it does after a long time and the game is at that point loaded properly with no errors, implying the .sav file itself is fine. The remaining times it just goes unresponsive without warning or crashing to desktop: it just freezes there, occasionally recovering from unresponsiveness and loading, and most times not.
Community AdminThanks. Cloud saves are turned off, so that's fine. Next, can you try restarting your machine with a Clean Boot, then turn off origin in-game and see if that helps.

You can disable Origin In-Game from Origin(click the top left of the client) > Application Settings > Origin In Game. Untick the box you'll see there.
Origin in game is already disabled for all games, as I don't use it, so that's one possible problem ruled out.
I performed the clean boot, disabling all non-microsoft services through msconfig.exe and also disabling every startup item on the dedicated tab of task manager. After rebooting I tried the game again; regrettably that doesn't help either: the issue persists.
I discovered an odd thing while manually terminating the process: I had left task manager on the right hand side of my desktop while working on the clean boot, and when I eventually did Ctr+Alt+Del out of the game, the task manager window wasn't visible due to the lingering low resolution of the screen (as it happens with old games). While I tried to move the task manager window back into view to kill the process, the process became responsive again and the game managed to load and took back focus of its own initiative: I could hear the sound but all I saw was a black screen, which never went away no matter how long i waited or what I pressed, forcing me to terminate the process again.
I just thought i'd mention that, in case it might be useful.

i had the same issue and i changed the screen resolution to 800x600 and then it worked for me. I dont know how else u can change the screen resolution because menu dosent load but i changed it used cncnet.
