Remapped graphics toggle key not working as intended

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Remap the graphics toggle key to TILDE and continue playing through to GDI mission 11A. Upon restarting the mission a couple of times, the graphics changed themselves back to legacy and the TILDE key only works while it's pressed down.
What happens when the bug occurs? Graphics only stay on modern HD while the toggle key is pressed down.
What do you expect to see? The toggle key should work normally.
Remapping the toggle key back to SPACE still doesn't work, but resetting all key bindings back to Default does work as intended...so far.
Yea, I've seen that too, the bug with it switching again when you release the key.
It can generally be solved by resetting your key bindings and then re-assigning it as you wish, but if you don't want to do that, there is a workaround:
Hold down the key to switch the graphics, and before releasing it, press ESC to open the main menu. Then release the key. The opened menu will prevent the key release from switching it back.
