Scroll Speed on is too fast, even at the lowest setting. How do I fix this? When I edit the "conquer.ini" it just reverts. If I set it to Read-Only, then the game won't start.

WHERE poeple/users must say, when not here; on official EA forum??? F...CK OFF!
I didn't understand much of that. As NeylaDevaki said, install the unofficial patch 1.06.
Hi,
I know this is an old topic, but I am having the same problem. I have installed the patch however this didn't change the mouse speed
start CCConfig.exe and make sure "Use CnC-DDraw" is enabled and hit OK
Now open ddraw.ini and you will find this "maxfps=" lower the number to slow the scroll speed down. If you like to play online the make sure the number is not below 60!
Red Alert 1 got the same problem with the scroll speed, you can get a patch for it here:
Hi,
I'm certain this is a very old topic of discussion but in the topic of Command and Conquer Generals and Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour, i'm having a difficult time playing.
Firstly, over a period of time i say maybe 10 minutes of playtime in skirmish the game will slow to a crawl no matter what speed you have originally set it to like its having a hard time loading all the units in game. Secondly in a skirmish game my scroll speed is malfunctioning causing me to zoom across the map with just the slightest mouse movement, on top of that issue the trees act like they are caught in a tornado. I have tried messing with the settings like resolution of quality of graphics and still nothing. I have also tried uninstalling Origin and C&C along with every single file and reinstalling all of it and it hasn't fixed the problem.
Its also important to note that all of this started when i upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. The version i have is the Ultimate Collection where its digitally downloaded from Origin.
Before the upgrade it worked fine because its all the same specs on my computer, same quad core processor the brand is AMD. My processor has recently changed to AMD Radeon HD 7700 series.
The game still loads up but its nearly impossible to play, i'm curious on if there is a patch somewhere or if i might have to get a virtual machine with windows 7 on it in order to play Generals or Zero hour.
Any solution or ideas i'd love to hear them.

Um. This topic isn't about Command and Conquer Generals / Zero Hour, It's about the very first Command & Conquer game; Tiberian Dawn 🤨
