incase someone comes upon this thread, go into Properties of your Game in the EA-App and add -NOSPLASHPRELOAD
Idk what it does i have it from a Steamfix for this game and it also works in the EA-App. I can start the game finally now.

@Lucia_Stardust They added a logic to preload textures on game startup, which prevents it lagging in-game when it loads them there for the first time. The "NOSPLASHPRELOAD" option disables that preload logic.
There's no minus before that though; it's "NOSPLASHPRELOAD", not "-NOSPLASHPRELOAD".

Anyway, as side effect it might cause some lag when you first go in-game, possibly once for each terrain tileset.- 3 years ago
Hi all, I'd been playing around with this issue a couple of weeks ago as per below thread:
Just thought I'd share my findings here. There is an error in the CnCRemastered\__Installer\installerdata.xml file. The EA app uses that file when calling the launcher (ClientLauncherG.exe).
The XML allows parameters to be passed when calling the exe but parameters need to be preceded by a valid switch symbol in the XML eg - or -- or /
The XML has the parameter DUMP_FULL but because the switch is missing before it, it fails to launch and errors out.
If you specify your own parameter in the app (via View Properties) it seems to override the invalid XML parameter and it launches the game.
Whether you use my suggested parameter from the other thread (-REDALERT), the parameter suggested in this thread (-NOSPLASHPRELOAD) or just some made up switch (like -ILIEKTURTLEZ) it doesn't matter, the game will still launch. Alternatively, you can also correct the XML if preferred and you're comfortable with doing that.
It's doubtful if even valid parameters actually take effect, since the exe just launches the launcher.
By the way, you have to use a switch symbol (whether in the EA App or in the XML, as it is how the EA app parses them).

@bleearghh Ha, that explains a lot. I had a suspicion though, since the mentioned REDALERT parameter is meant for ClientG.exe (to launch directly into RA), not for ClientLauncherG.exe.

Need someone to walk me threw this process, step by step. I do not see a EA App file in Program , I do see EA Desktop and EA Games, and once I figure this out how do I add NOSPLASHPRELOAD ? do I create a new folder and add in using notepad?

@jcmboss The bug that required a switch to be added in the EA App (eg -NOSPLASHPRELOAD or pretty much any other name you want to use) was seemingly fixed a couple of weeks ago. If you are still getting the same error, ensure that you are logging in to Windows with an Administrator account and NOT a standard user account. It's not good to have to do that but it does seem to work for a lot of people.

Thanks for the advice and insights, I too have followed several proposed solutions including completely removing and reinstalling both the game and EA App, the only way it runs is under an admin account. Since EA 'forced' the replacement of Origin, they really need to address these issues. Personally. I've wasted enough time on this.
