are are necromporhs fake or based off something real

this is bugging me ever since I play the game I can't get my mind over it Please no trolls

    Necro is the prefix of words that mean death or something dead, kind of like zombies. Morph means to change form. These are common science fiction themes, emphasis is on fiction. Necromorphs are not based on anything real. Sweet dreams.
