Solved

Black screen on startup

I have installed the beta driver from nvidia.

Tried reinstall of game, repaired the install with 0 errors.

Tried running it as an administrator, tried running it in compatibility modes.

When checking task manager the game is hovering on 12-14% CPU usage. Memory locked at same amount.

Unplugged joysticks.

No overclock.

Sometimes I get the message from origin saying that I can press to see overlay. When it shows the screen frezes, like if the game crashed.

Checking task manager it still says running.

My specs:

GTX 680

i7 2600k

8gb ram

64bit win 7

xonar phoebus soundcard

I think I found a solution that has worked so far for me.  Here's what I did:

    • Turned V-sync off in game.
    • Used an external graphic card control program (EVGA Precision X  ver 4.0.0) to manually set Frame Rate Target to 60 fps.

So far I have not had any more random crashes during gameplay.  Will update if this stops working.

I had this same problem and couldn't find a solution anywhere but I have fixed mine now. I used Nvidia Geforce Experience to change the resolution because it was trying to start in 1280x720 and when I changed it to 1920x1080 it worked straight away.

Just thought i'd post this since I there is no help from EA

    Hope this helps

I know this is even more ages ago, but if you have a GeForce card you can change the game settings from within the GeForce Experience app.

For me, it was actually because I had set the display to windowed-borderless.  Resetting this in GeforceExperience to full-screen fixed the issue for me

  • I actually fixed this problem and decided to post the solution:

    • Change your resolution in Windows to 720p. (which the game tries to launch in)
    • Go in game to Video settings, set it to Windowed mode at 720p.
    • Change your resolution in Windows to what it normally is; 1080p for me.
    • In Video settings, change your resolution to normal. (1920x1080 for me)
    • If you don't want to actually play in Windowed, set it to borderless.

    Hope this helps someone.
