Cannot join friends game in co-op

I've encountered exactly the same issue, it's incredibly frustrating. Both my friend and I can join random people in quick matches without an issue, but we are unable to play a co-op game together. Every time, we get the error "failed to join game". Could anyone please assist us, or advise whether we can expect a patch in the near future?

yeah it seems very stupid...especially when there is no local option to play together. come on EA

can someone please reply? im feeling very ripped off with my purchase right now.

i bought this to play co-op with my friend only and right now its sitting there gathering dust 

I've been trying to fix this for a week and lets just say I'm not holding my breath expecting to get any kind of response from EA anytime soon

Gotten more help from other people with problems but unfortunately none work

same here, mine PC version... tried everything I can think of but failed to connect...
I've bought the limited edition for this... =.=''

We could really use some news on this please. This game is really great and some of us can't play because of origin issues with our ports? Please patch this.

i cant connect to the ea servers and cant play online or co-op needs to be sorted out
