Can't stomp or anything else

I'm no great gamer, but I’ve conquered Quake & Halo on Xbox & PC. On
Deadspace 2 I can't make it to the 1st checkpoint. Only the WSAD &shift
keys do anything. Neither space nor mouse buttons do anything. Can anyone help
me? Watched video walkthrough but I always get killed at the 1st door because nothing I do kills the bad guy.

  • No,no,no. When you cross the door and fall on the ground, you have to keep tapping repeatedly on the "E" key until the monster get's sqwashed by the door.

  • At the beginning of the game, you can't do anything, except run away from the aliens. This is the only thing you can do, until you find somebody to help you out of your stray jacket. I would suggest that you do a Google search for a Dead Space 2 walkthough. There are a lot of videos available on Youtube.

Thanks for answering. I've watched a couple of videos and they both show the main character getting to the place where I always get killed and then falling on his back and kicking the bad guy till the door closes on him. But nothing I do produces any action from the main character. He just lies there and gets killed. I think I wasted my money on this game. I do appreciate you taking the time to answer, though.

Thanks glussier! Once I got past that point I learned a lot more and am now making decent progress. Thanks for taking the time to help out a novice. I was so frustrated! Sorry it has taken so long to let you know I took your advice. My plate has been pretty full lately and I just got back to this today.

I decided to go back and thank the guy who helped me when I first started because that advice to repeatedly tap the E key until something happens helped in lots of other places, including the tram jump so many people get stuck on and when some alien has me in his grip. I see it's you, glussier - the same one who helped me move the game off my SSD. So thanks again.

  • Hey Chasgrad, if you like Dead Space 2, you should try Dead Space 1 after you complete this one. I did like Dead Space 2 a lot, but I think that there is a lot more atmosphere in Dead Space 1.

I'll give it a try. Got them both at the same time for a pretty reasonable price.

glussier --I am having the same issue trying to get into that other train. It doesn't matter how many times and at what pace I hit/press the "E" key. I have also tried it in combination with other keys, you name them! (space bar; both mouth keys; "F"; "R"; "W"; "D"; EVERY key!, but nothing seems to work. This is why The Crysis games seem to be so better than the Dead Space ones --and, by the way, I already finished Dead Space 1 some years ago.

Any help or advice will be SO MUCH appreciated :-(
