CD Key From www.simplygames.com INVALID

I just bought a cd key from simply games and I cannot redeem it via origin. Simply games is apparently closed until Monday which directly translates into no Dead Space until Monday, minimum.
Does anyone have anything to add to this? Am I doing the process wrong? trying to redeem it in the wrong place?
the key is in this format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX which looks a bit short to me, could I be missing a chunk of the code? could it be used differently?
