I found a lot of threads with that error code and have pulled the below steps out of some of those.
- Run Steam as an administrator and run DS1 in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode
- Run a disk check: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2641432
- Set your video card to run at stock clock speeds
- Reinstall game

No luck still.

I remember seeing something before about how dead space 2 won't run well with more than 4 cpu cores. Do you think that is the problem I am having with dead space 1 with my 2 intel xeon 8 core processors?

With an older game such as this, having too many CPUs is possible but with a PC of that kind of calibre do you really want to disable CPUs to play?
You could try disabling some cores by setting 'CPU affinity':
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del > Start Task Manager > Processes Tab > right click desired program > Set Affinity

Won't let me do it as it auto crashes.

Okay so I have found that this all could be an issue with the most recent Crimson video card drivers.
Please use the following clean uninstall utility to remove your current video drivers:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx
Then download and install the most recent non-Crimson driver set:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous/detail?os=Windows%207%20-%2064&rev=15.12
Obviously we would like you to post your results here, thanks.

Apologies for linking the wrong driver there. Try 15.7.1 from this page:

@EA_Barry Well it gave me a different error this time. It says my card doesn't meet requirements, which well as you should know is not the case at all. What do I do now to fix this..and also I personally don't feel comfortable staying on this old driver to just play this one game, I am worried it might damage my card if we can get past this new error and it turns out it is the new drivers. So my question is will EA make this game crimson drivers compatible or will they leave it to rot and have it stuck on this driver?
Edit: Just tried another game and turns out nothing is working now on this driver. On this driver all my games think I don't have a card and no direct x.

Using an older set of drivers will not damage the card. I do not expect a game update to happen that will allow your hardware and software combination to work.
It is possible that your setup is not going to run this game given that the game is quite old and your machine is a massively powerful modern workstation that was never intended to play games.

@EA_Barry Okay so it turns out all my games think I don't have a graphics card also. So yea I am going back to the latest driver and kind of disappointed so far. I was hoping to play this game and now it seems the only fix to stop it from crashing makes everything so far unplayable as it turns my graphics card off basically and thinks I am getting my display through a standard vga graphics adapter.

Well since EA is unable to fix my issue I am going to have to do it myself. I would like to be sent the source code in email to try and work on it and fix what you guys are unable to do or could possibly be what you guys are unwilling to do.
