Dead Space 2 activation paradox

I own the DVD version of Dead Space 2. I had owned it for quite a while (at least a year and a half) before I tried activating it on Origin. When I enter the product key to activate it in Origin, it says that the key has already been used, but the valid EA account associated with the key in-game is the same account that I use for Origin. Dead Space 2 does not appear in my Origin library even after restarting it. Is there any way to merge the two instances of the same account so I don't need the discs for installation?

@GuyP3rs0n Please make sure that you download and install the latest version of Origin at www.origin.com/download (and make sure you have your Origin account ready as well). If that doesn’t helped, close the origin client and go directly to you origin folder C:\Program Files\Origin Games. Run the origin.exe in this folder with a rightclick -> run as administrator.

If that won't work, head to activate.ea.com, log in to your EA Account and enter your product code on the Redeem Your Code page.

If you still have issues with the validation of your game-key, please contact EA-Support. Be prepared to verify your email address, date of birth or any other personally identifiable information on your account.
