Dead space 2 doesnt recognize when disk 2 is inserted

In dead space 2 i finished the first disk and always get prompted to insert disk 2 though once i do nothing happens. I thought maybe it was my copy so i returned it and for another but the problem remained, with other games like mass effect 3 i have no problem with swapping disks, just with every copy of dead space 2 ive tried. Is there anything i can do? ive already gone through customer service with microsoft too to verify its not my console they recommened me to you guys.  Any and all help is appreciated

    How long are you waiting?

I've only tried to play this year, but I believe this issue started near 2013...

I had the same problem and figured it was my xbox or something. If you have the first gen 360, have it so the disk tray is vertical, then play the game till you get to the prompt. Eject the disk, then close the tray with disk one still in. You'll get a 360 prompt moments later to put disk two in. Eject the tray then swap disks. Close the prompt, then close the tray. This worked for me but I don't know if it'll work for everyone because I don't have the 360 Elite. Let me know if this works.

Since I waited more than I should... I got rid of it. I don't have the game anymore, but my console was not first generation.

I was truly deceived by EA support, saying it was being analyzed and I should receive an answer shortly... shortly = several months!?

Since I had Dead Space 3 to play as well (I wouldn't have bought it if I knew this would happen to Dead Space 2), I've decided to watch some youtube films about Dead Space 2... since I wasn't able to finish it because of that issue.

I'm experiencing the same issue.  I have the Xbox 360 E console.

My console includes an E-rainbow 500GB drive.  Though it's not the OEM Xbox drive, this has functioned without issues on all other games.

I have solved the problem. And I made an account to tell you how. Simply eject disc one without going to the home page, and then put in disc two when it prompts you to do so. And the game will continue.

If you still use this site, I figured the problem out after searching a few sites.
