Community ManagerFirst, try deleting the game data utility files as follows: https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/369/~/remove-ps3-game-data-utility-files
I've done all that but the problem still remains. I tried to start a new game and deleted all of my past saves but the game still freezes at the same points. Sometimes the game will freeze at the first loading screen or the beginning of chapter 8 or sometimes it would just be random.

So I tried all the steps on this page again an the crashing problem still remains, however I don't want to Restore PS3 System because I have to much stuff on the system, Games, Movies, Pictures and I don't want to go through redownloading everything because my internet is too slow. Tried to return the game to gamestop for a different copy but they wouldn't take it because the 7 day return policy is up.
- Hey i just recieved my copy of dead space 2 limited edition but wen i am trying to start a new game irrespective of difficulty the gme freezes on the very first image ... My ps3 unit is well maintained and up to date. Its only the campaign mode which is having problems other modes are working fine. I read your coversations with other players and tried to follow your given instructions in a similar manner i.e. Deleting game data and making space on the hard drive... Nothing seems to be working, please help me with this issue.
